No to poison! represents a technical leap in Cine C.A.R.E.T.A.S., given it is the very first Puerto Rican movie to use 3D virtual reality scenes. Its effects captivate the children audience and, in combination with its story, make of this film a memorable one for all audiences. No to Poison!’s VFX where created by Imaginary Films LLC, a media oriented technology startup. The film uses software developed by them to insert these characters in a world of dreams.
Collaboration with the UPR at Arecibo
In a a collaborative joint, students from the University of Puerto Rico at Arecibo’s Mass Media Communications department edited No to Poison under the supervision of professor Jadit de Brito. In this collaboration, students from the first Advanced Post-Production course given by the university edited from one to two scenes each, as part of a class project.
The best edits were chosen to be used in the final movie. In some cases, parts were combined from two different edits into one final cut. At the end, all students received credit because each of their works influenced the final result.
